Light is one of the most important, and most obvious, building blocks of plant life. It isn’t always in abundance, especially if you’re growing indoors. Your plant’s exposure to natural light may be limited. Using LED grow lights will allow you to shine light on your plants anywhere indoors and at night. This will make a considerable difference to the speed and quality of your plant’s growth.
There are about 16 nutrients that your average plant requires to grow happy and healthy. However, not all nutrients are created equal and some are consumed far more than others. Specifically, potassium (K), nitrogen (N) and phosphorous (P) are the top three nutrients plant’s need. By ensuring that any fertilizer or nutrient solution you use is high in these three, you’ll be well on your way to success.
Soil holds all sorts of microbes that can seriously contaminate your hydroponics system. Never use soil as a medium for your hydroponic system. If you ever move a plant from soil to hydroponics, you need to be very careful to make sure all the soil is washed off first.
