The new LED grow lights can be more expensive to purchase than other plant lights but are significantly cheaper to operate than any standard grow light. It is well known that conventional bulbs and fluorescent plant lights are very fragile and break easily.

These LED grow lights are extremely durable and long lasting. The lifespan is about 100,000 hours on average, which is almost fifty times longer than a conventional bulb. They use less wattage and produces more light than fluorescent and conventional bulbs, consequently saving a great deal in electricity costs. LED plant lights only produce the color spectrum needed for plants to grow and have their own built in cooling system.  Conventional bulbs  require expensive ventilation to carry away excess heat.

Growing lights are special electrical lights that are used for growing plants indoors.  They work by giving off light in the same spectrum as the sun does.  Plants are then able to use this light in photosynthesis.  Therefore, growing lights are very useful for indoor gardens, where plants don’t receive enough sunlight to grow on their own.

There are a several reasons why you would want to use growing lights.  Sometimes you have to place a plant in an area that doesn’t receive enough light and you want to give it an extra boost.  You want to have beautiful flowers all year long on plants such as African Violets or orchids.  You want to start seedlings indoors before planting them outside.  You want to grow an herb, fruit and vegetable garden inside your home so that you can enjoy these fresh fruits, herbs and vegetables during the winter months.
